Sugar Cubes: Damp Sugar Pressed and Dried
Sugar was once sold as hard loaves, difficult to break into even pieces; Jakub Kryštof Rad made the first sugar cubes in the 1840s by pressing moist sugar into a tray. Dampen granulated sugar with a little water, press it into a slab, cut it into cubes and dry them with gentle heat.
