Babassu palm nuts (Attalea speciosa) — the hard-shelled fruit of the babassu palm native to Brazil. The kernels yield babassu oil, used in soap, cosmetics, and cooking. The shell produces excellent charcoal, and the pressed residue is used as animal feed.
