Medium-fine 150-grit sandpaper produces a smoother surface than 120 grit while still cutting efficiently. Often used as an intermediate step on softwoods (pine, cedar) which show scratch patterns more visibly than hardwoods. Also effective for scuff-sanding between coats of paint or primer.
