Balsa Sheets and Sticks: Log Sawn, Dried and Planed

Dry balsa is the softest wood measured and very light, because drying leaves its cells hollow: the classic wood for light, stiff models. Green balsa is full of water, so saw the log into boards, dry them well, then rip and plane thin sheets and square sticks. The picture: our diagram, log to stickered boards to sheets and sticks.
