Dried fibrous residue (bagasse) remaining after crushing sugarcane to extract juice. A renewable biomass fuel with approximately 50% moisture content when fresh, widely used to fire the boilers and furnaces in sugar mills — the industry is largely energy self-sufficient through bagasse combustion.
