Ultra-fine 600-grit sandpaper is used almost exclusively wet. Produces a satin-smooth finish on lacquer, polyurethane, and automotive paint between coats. Also effective for polishing soft metals (copper, brass, aluminium), smoothing cured resin, and preparing surfaces for rubbing compound.
