Cobaltite ore (CoAsS) — a silver-white to grey mineral containing cobalt, arsenic, and sulfur. The primary ore of cobalt, used since antiquity to produce intense blue colouration in glass and ceramics (smalt, cobalt blue). Both arsenic and cobalt compounds are toxic — handle with respiratory protection.
