Elemental sulfur (S) collected from volcanic fumaroles, hot springs, or surface deposits. A bright yellow, brittle solid with a distinctive smell. Used in vulcanising rubber, making sulfuric acid, as a fungicide, and in black powder. Melts at 115 °C; burns with a blue flame producing SO₂ gas.
