Elm Boards, Milled and Air-Dried

Elm has interlocking grain that resists splitting, which is why wagon-wheel hubs were made of it. Mill and dry it as the oak boards: mill the log, seal the ends the same day, sticker the boards in the shade and let a moisture meter say when they are dry.
