MOS Reference: Soft talc-rich metamorphic rock with a silky, warm tactile quality and outstanding heat retention. Naturally non-porous and chemically inert, requiring no sealing. Traditionally used for kitchen countertops, wood stove surrounds, laboratory bench tops, and carving. Darkens with age and mineral oil application to a rich charcoal patina.
