An adhesive made by heating pine resin with charcoal powder and sometimes beeswax. One of humanity's oldest glues — used since the Middle Stone Age for hafting stone tools to wooden handles, sealing bark containers, and waterproofing joints. The charcoal acts as a filler that strengthens the brittle resin.
