Barium Peroxide: Barium Oxide Heated in Air
Barium oxide takes oxygen from the air at about 500 °C and becomes barium peroxide; above 820 °C it gives the oxygen back. The Brin process used this to separate oxygen from air, and the peroxide was once the source of hydrogen peroxide. It is an oxidiser and harmful if swallowed.

Hold the open crucible at about 500 °C in the furnace, checked with the pyrometer, stirring now and then with an iron rod. Never let it go above 820 °C, or the oxygen leaves again.
