Cardboard Tube: Pasted Paper Rolled on a Mandrel

A cardboard tube is layers of paper pasted together round a former: stiff, light and as round as the rod it was rolled on. Kaleidoscopes, periscopes, pinhole cameras and model rocket bodies are built on them.
Beginner
An hour, then a day drying

Instructions

1

Cut the paper

Cut paper as wide as the tube is long. Wrap a dry first turn round a wooden dowel of the bore you want, so the tube will slide off.
