Fleshing Beam from a Rounded Half-Log

Hides are laid over a beam and scraped: the hair side with a blunt unhairing knife, the flesh side with a sharp fleshing knife. Shave the flat side of a half-log into a smooth round back, and set it sloping on two legs so the top end stands at the worker's hip. The picture: our diagram of the beam on its legs.
