Jute Twine and Hand-Laid Jute Rope
Jute's long golden bast fibre spins into a rough, cheap twine and, laid three strands together, into rope. Each step twists the other way from the one before: singles one way, twine the other, and rope strands back again, so the twists lock and nothing unwinds.
It starts from retted, dried jute fibre (the nested step).
