Lithium Chloride: Lithium Carbonate Dissolved in Hydrochloric Acid, Crystallised above 15 °C (Thorpe 1912)
Lithium carbonate fizzes away in hydrochloric acid, leaving lithium chloride in solution. Crystallised warm, it comes out dry.
Result: anhydrous lithium chloride, octahedral crystals that soak up water from the air.
