Nitrogen: Ammonium Chloride and Potassium Dichromate Heated

Nitrogen from a heated mixture of ammonium chloride and potassium dichromate, as Thorpe's Dictionary (1912) gives it; the reaction is that of ammonium dichromate, (NH4)2Cr2O7 = Cr2O3 + 4H2O + N2, leaving chromium oxide. Dichromate dust is toxic: mask, gloves. The picture: our diagram.
