Oxygen: Bleaching Powder Solution Heated with a Little Cobalt Oxide at 70–80 °C

Oxygen from bleaching powder, as Thorpe's Dictionary (1913) gives it: a strong solution of bleaching powder with a little cobalt oxide gives a steady stream of oxygen at about 70–80 °C, leaving calcium chloride. The picture: our diagram.
