Paste Wax: White Wax Warmed with Spirits of Turpentine, 1892
The wax finish of The Hardwood Finisher (1892): white wax and spirits of turpentine warmed together until they make a thick paste. Rubbed into the wood and polished off, it gives a soft, low shine. It is not durable and water spots it, but a scratch is easily mended with more wax.
