Sodium Acetate: Acetic Acid Neutralised with Washing Soda
Sodium acetate is acetic acid with its acid taken up by soda. US Dispensatory (1907): add crystals of sodium carbonate to acetic acid until neutral, filter, concentrate and crystallise. The crystals are clear prisms that lose water in warm dry air, so keep them closed.
