Stainless Steel Bar and Wire Rod: Blooms Hot-Rolled, Cut or Coiled

Long stainless products start as blooms. Reheat a bloom and hot-roll it stand by stand: stop at bar size and cut it into lengths as it leaves the mill, or roll on down to wire rod and coil it for drawing. Bars are then straightened and machined. The picture: our diagram, bloom to bar and to coiled rod.
