Wing Nut: Sand-Cast in Brass, Drilled and Tapped
A wing nut has two wings so it can be turned by hand without tools. The standard (ASME B18.6.9) sorts them by how they are made: cold forged, hot forged, die cast or stamped from sheet. In a workshop the cast kind can be made by sand casting brass from a wooden pattern, then drilling and tapping the hole. Method and sizes are ours.
