Iron and ammonium citrate (ferric ammonium citrate): thin transparent garnet-red scales, at least 16 % iron. Made by dissolving freshly made ferric hydroxide in citric acid with ammonia and drying in thin layers; kept from light (US Dispensatory 1907). The light-sensitive salt of the cyanotype.
