Solution of ferric sulphate (Liquor Ferri Tersulphatis): a clear reddish-brown solution of about 36 % normal ferric sulphate, Fe2(SO4)3, about 10 % iron. Made by oxidising ferrous sulphate with nitric acid in sulphuric acid (US Pharmacopoeia, in the US Dispensatory 1907).
