Rigid Heddle Loom: a Beech Frame, Two Rollers and a Slotted Heddle
In a rigid heddle loom one heddle does the work of the shafts: warp ends pass alternately through holes and through the slots between them, so lifting the heddle raises half the ends and lowering it drops them, opening the two sheds for plain weave. Build a beech frame with a warp roller and a cloth roller, and a heddle of slats with a hole in each.

Rip thin beech slats, drill a small hole through the middle of each, and set them evenly spaced between two grooved bars, glued, so slots and holes alternate (step 5 for spacing).
