Gold Powder: Gold Leaf Ground in Honey and Washed Out
Gold leaf and its scraps become a fine powder when ground with honey in a mortar. Wash the honey out in hot water, let the gold settle, pour off and repeat, then dry it. With a drop of gum arabic the powder becomes shell gold paint.

Grind
Put gold leaf scraps and a little honey in the mortar and grind them together until no flakes show.

Scrape the paste into a bowl of hot water and stir. Let the gold settle, then pour off the water.
