Oleoresin tapped from living pine trees (Pinus spp.), a sticky, aromatic substance composed of turpentine (volatile terpenes) and rosin (solid resin acids). Used as a waterproofing sealant, adhesive base, torch fuel, varnish ingredient, and in traditional medicine. When heated, the turpentine evaporates leaving hard rosin.
