Hardwood Strips Ripped and Planed from a Board
Hardwood strips for dashers, rulers and glued-up boards are ripped from a dry board along the grain and planed square. Gauge the lines first, saw on the waste side, then plane down to the line.
The picture: holding a wooden plane, from Otto Salomon's Teacher's Handbook of Slöjd (1900).
