Hazardous
Allyl Glycidyl Ether: Allyl Alcohol and Epichlorohydrin, Evans, Marple and Shokal 1943
Epichlorohydrin boiled for a day and a half in a large excess of allyl alcohol with a trace of stannic chloride gives the chlorohydrin ether; strong caustic soda at about 0 °C closes it into allyl glycidyl ether, which is extracted and fractionated (Evans, Marple and Shokal, Shell, US 2,314,039, 1943: 76.7 %). It is the thinner that makes bis-phenol epoxy spreadable as a glue.
