Brass Sheet, Strip and Rod from an Ingot

Brass from the alloying blueprint is cast into bars, then worked cold like copper: rolled or hammered for sheet and strip, drawn for rod. It work-hardens faster than copper, so it is annealed often, to a dull red, and can be quenched. Molten brass gives off white zinc-oxide smoke: melt it outdoors with the wind behind you.
