Capacitor Kit: Electrolytic and Ceramic Disc Capacitors Measured, Marked and Sorted

A workbench assortment of capacitors put together from the two kinds made here: wound electrolytic capacitors for large values and fired ceramic discs for small ones. Each is measured, marked and sorted by value. Result: a capacitor kit of electrolytic and ceramic disc capacitors, every one labelled with its value and the electrolytics with their polarity. Source: assembled from the Danziger electrolytic capacitor (US 2,107,780) and Coffeen ceramic disc capacitor (US 2,789,061) blueprints; the measuring, marking and sorting are Youblob's own. Instructions

1

Measure each capacitor

Measure the capacity of every electrolytic and ceramic disc capacitor. Ours: a benchtop LCR meter.

2

Mark value and polarity

Write the measured value on each part. Electrolytic capacitors are polarised: mark which lead goes to the positive side. Ours: a permanent marker.

3

Sort into the box

Sort the capacitors by kind and value into the compartments of a box, one value to a compartment.
