Copper Foil: Sheet Rolled Thin with Anneals Between Passes

Copper foil is copper taken thinner than sheet. Copper hardens as it is worked and softens again when heated and quenched, so a sheet can be rolled down pass after pass, annealing whenever it stiffens, until it is thin enough to cut with scissors and wrap round a joint. The picture: a strip of copper foil.
