เปลเด็ก (plae dek, baby cradle) as a toy is a tiny woven bamboo copy of the cradle a baby sleeps in, made for children to rock for fun. Almost every household had a cradle, since a sleeping baby must be rocked.

History and limits
History and limits
In the farming season parents took small children along and built temporary shelters; without a cradle they hung a pha khao ma, blanket or towel as one. Rocking keeps the baby cool and sleeping soundly. Take care with sharp wire ends.

**Limits** The source gives no size for the cradle or frame. The illustrations are drawings. There is no product line for rattan or general soft wood.
