Steel Hand-Sewing Needles from Spring Wire
A needle is a short length of hard steel wire with a point at one end and an eye at the other. Made from annealed spring-steel wire, it is pointed and pierced while soft, then hardened and tempered so it flexes instead of snapping, and finally polished smooth so it slides through cloth.
